Influencing effectively and with sensitivity

What does inflencing mean to you? Is it about convincing the other that you are right? Or rather about listening as well, that your view and opinions are really being heard, resulting in openness for the other to consciously choose?

Does influencing mean sticking firmly to your conviction? Or are you also able, from your viewpoint, to be open to others and be influenced by them? What movement is possible there? To what extent is influencing about leading or maybe even seducing? Does it have to do with gaining acceptance? What about the intention behind your words?
All these aspects play a role in your ability to influence.
